Disneyland!

We've had a fantastic few days mucking around in Disneyland & California Adventure Park. Our routine has been to hit DL or Cali Adventure Park in the morning for a few hours and then home to the Hotel for the arvo. Then back again for the evening. Disneyland and Cali Adventure Park are sensational in the evening.

We've also enjoyed mucking around at our waterpark at the Hotel. We did this for most of the arvo on Wednesday.

Space Mountain is in the background

The favourite Disney rides so far have been Cars, California Screamer, Space Mountain (not Hannah), Indiana Jones and my personal favourite Soarin' Around the World. We've walked many km's in search of these rides and by mid arvo, our legs are aching. When we got home yesterday arvo I threw out an invitation for anyone prepared to give me a foot rub. The three oldest kids were horrified at the thought, but Gracie accepted the challenge. I talked up her talents so much that everyone else lined up. Gracie massaged everyone's feet and made a crisp Tenner. The boys even tipped her.

The highlight of yesterday was having breakfast at Goofy's kitchen. It was an early birthday present to William. He loved it. Without doubt the most expensive breakfast I've ever been a party to. When the waiter asked what we wanted to drink, I asked for a cappuccino. Waiter's response: "that will be extra." I genuinely thought he was joking. He wasn't, and Lara and I settled for an OJ.

They also scammed nearly 30 bucks (US) out of us for a photo opportunity. Add a compulsory 20% gratuity to the total bill and Phil's in need of a couple of high paying briefs on his return. The food was unbelievable. Perfect if you are 400 kg's. Otherwise, too hard to really make a dint. The kids loved it. William (did I mention he's back on sugar?) started with with a soft serve. There was also Goofy's famous peanut butter and Jelly pizza (and any other flavour you wanted). You name it, they had it. Desserts, savoury, mac & cheese, hot dogs, M&M's, fried chicken nuggets, snakes, fruit loops, LCM bars dipped in chocolate, Orio choc Mouse, bread & butter pudding, creme brûlée and cake pops just to give you a basic overview. Your standard breakfast dining fare really.

Kids also loved being stuck on Space Mountain yesterday. Mid-ride the entire ride was shut down. We sat in the dark until rescued by employees who ended up pushing us the remainder of the way. Turns out that some poor coot had a seizure or heart attack or something. Possibly as a result of dining with Goofy?!

Last night we went to the Disney light show at Cali Adventure Park. Lights, colour and lots of water and fire shooting everywhere. Disney movie characters were projected onto the water as well. It was ace. Home for a 10.00 pm bed time.

After a big day today we are heading out to see a movie tonight. Will spend the arvo by the pool. Another 4 nights to go. We've had an amazing time. I've proposed that we move our beds into the same room when we get home. Hannah not so keen. Would give us more living space.

I'm off to look at some cars tomorrow and to get some Caddy parts. Such fun.
